Course description: This course provides students with opportunities to further develop their knowledge of the achievements and rich cultural legacy of the classical world through the study of Latin or ancient Greek. Students will increase their vocabulary and refine their use of grammatical concepts by reading and translating a broad selection of adapted and original classical texts, including prose and poetry. English is the language of instruction, and students will further refine their ability to use oral communication, reading, and writing skills in both English and the classical language. Students will apply research and critical thinking skills to investigate diverse aspects of classical culture, and make increasingly insightful connections between the classical world and other societies.
